July 12, 2005

Orlando, Florida-based metal sensation TRIVIUM are featured on the cover of next week's Kerrang! magazine. In other news, TRIVIUM have put up a video of their performance on the Ozzfest Day at this year's Download Festival in the U.K. Check out the clip at this location.

Released March 15 in the United States, TRIVIUM's latest CD, "Ascendancy", rocketed to No. 4 on the Top New Artist chart with 7,000 albums sold and No. 151 on the The Billboard 200 chart. To date, the album has sold over 40,000 copies. In addition, the band was No. 1 for over two months at college and metal radio, a rare feat for a band this early in their career, and the videos for "Like Light to the Flies" and "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr", continue to be spun on MTV2 and Fuse. In addition, TRIVIUM were nominated for a Metal Hammer award, also playing the awards show.

TRIVIUM are currently preparing for their first-ever Ozzfest tour kicking off on July 15 at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. Lead-singer/guitarist Matt Heafy was recently named a "team captain" along with SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison, MACHINE HEAD's Robert Flynn and ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares and has been writing and recording tracks for the Roadrunner Records' 25th anniversary all-star record on his time off.
